This page explains the rules we follow when we write, edit and update content on ProveNutra. It applies to every review, ingredient guide and buying guide on the site.
Independence
ProveNutra earns affiliate commissions when readers buy through some of our links. Commissions do not decide which products we review or what we conclude about them. In practice that means:
- Sellers and affiliate networks do not see reviews before they are published and cannot request changes.
- We do not accept payment, free product or gifts in exchange for coverage or a favorable conclusion.
- Every review includes cons and a note on who should skip the product, whatever the commission.
- We do not use star ratings or scores that could be nudged up quietly.
Sourcing standards
We prefer primary and official sources, in roughly this order:
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses, including the Cochrane Library.
- Randomized controlled trials in people, found through PubMed.
- Government fact sheets from the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements and the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health.
- FDA and FTC guidance, warning letters and recalls where relevant.
- The seller’s own label, sales page, refund policy and checkout terms, which we treat as claims to be checked, not as evidence.
We link to the sources behind each review. We do not cite a study we have not read at least in abstract form, and we note when a study was small, short, funded by a manufacturer, or done in animals or cells.
Who writes and edits
Content is written and edited by Daniel Brooks, Reviews Editor. Daniel is not a doctor, dietitian or pharmacist, and our pages do not offer medical advice. His role is to check labels, doses, research and terms, and to report what he finds clearly.
Use of AI tools
Some drafts on ProveNutra may be assisted by AI writing tools, for example to outline a page or tidy wording. AI tools are not used as a source of facts. Every fact, dose, figure and claim is checked by the editor against the cited source before publication, and the editor is responsible for everything that appears on the page.
Dates and updates
Each page shows the date it was first published and the date it was last updated. We only change the “last updated” date when we make a meaningful change, such as a new study, a formula or price change, or a revised refund term. Fixing a typo does not count. We recheck reviews on a regular schedule and whenever a reader reports a change.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Factual corrections are noted at the bottom of the page with the date and a short description of what changed. To report an error, use our contact page or email contact@provenutra.com with the page address and the source that shows the problem. We read every correction request.
